Home Security Black Friday and Cyber Monday Deals 2024

2024 Black Friday Home Security Deals Verified

We’ve spent years testing some of the best home security systems in the market. During that time we’ve come to understand some of the ins and outs of the industry. One of the most predictable patterns, though, is that the best time to save on a new system is either on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.

We’ve almost arrived at Black Friday 2024 and some brands are starting to roll out their pre-Black Friday deals. Others are keeping their cards close to their chest and in those cases, we’ll show you what we saw in 2023 to give you an idea of what to expect this time around.

Black Friday and Cyber Monday Savings In 2024

Black Friday and Cyber Monday are two of the biggest shopping holidays. Case in point: Almost all the top brands run special discounts, with savings up to 60-percent.

ADT

Where to look for deals: ADT website or talk to an ADT sales rep

It’s not officially an “early Black Friday sale,” but ADT’s current offer is as good as Black Friday deals often get. Right now, you can save up to 60-percent on your purchase of an ADT Plus security system – the latest ADT system launched in August 2024 that allows both DIY and professional installation. See our ADT Self Setup review for the former and ADT review for the latter.

There are a few requirements you have to meet in order to enjoy the discount, but by and large, this is better than ADT deals announced pre-Black Friday in the past. Last year, for instance, the discounts only went up to 40-percent.

To get the current discount though, you’d need:

  • A minimum package cost of $719 if you’re doing DIY installation or $1,169 if you’re having it professionally installed.
  • At least one month of monitoring subscription for DIY; a three-year monitoring contract for professional installation.
  • A package eligible for the Trusted Neighbor feature, which means it has to include a compatible Yale smart lock and Google Nest Doorbell (battery).

SimpliSafe

Where to look for deals: SimpliSafe’s website and Amazon

SimpliSafe is another company with pre-Black Friday offers, and it’s the same as ADT but with fewer requirements. As early as the first week of November, we saw SimpliSafe packages offered at up to 60-percent off – that’s less than $100 for the The Foundation package that typically costs around $250. Additionally, we’re seeing freebies ranging from a free outdoor camera to a $100 Visa gift card.

What are the requirements to take advantage of those deals? You’d need to be a new customer, and you’d need to sign up for a free trial of the Core (or higher) monitoring plan. The Core plan costs $31.99, but you won’t be charged for the first month. It will auto-renew in the second month though, but you can cancel it if you really want to use SimpliSafe as a self-monitored system. That’s one advantage of a no-contract security system.

Vivint

Where to look for deals: Vivint’s website and social media pages or contact a Vivint sales rep

Unlike ADT and SimpliSafe, Vivint’s pre-Black Friday offer affects not the equipment cost, but the monthly cost. With the code BLACKFRIDAY241, you can get up to five months of free professional monitoring. The regular monitoring price ranges from $29.99 to $49.99, so that’s up to $250 in savings.

It’s not totally impossible for Vivint to offer other types of deals once Black Friday rolls around though. Vivint’s Black Friday offer from last year was free equipment if you spend more than $599.99 on a Vivint security system. We actually saw a couple of options for the free equipment, either a Vivint Video Doorbell Pro or a Vivint Spotlight Pro for the Outdoor Cam Pro (Outdoor Cam Pro not included). Both pieces of equipment cost $249.

On top of those freebies, Vivint gave away a free $50 gift card to new customers who qualify. If you’re still keeping track, that’s a total of $300 worth of freebies.

abode

The top security system from abode is called iota. You can read our abode iota review for more information, but essentially, it’s a security system built around a hub with an integrated security camera, motion sensor, and siren. But aside from the iota hub, abode offers two other types of hubs – Smart Security and abode Security.

For its early Black Friday offer, abode is giving security kits built around those hubs up to 80-percent off. The biggest discount goes to the abode Security kit – from $159.99 down to only $29.99 for the most basic package. Next comes the Smart Security kit, down to $129.99 from its original $279.99 price. And lastly, the iota Security Kit is down to $249.99 from $379.99.

All those kits include just basic equipment – typically a key fob, a mini door/window sensor, and the hub itself. They are designed to be the foundation of your system, and the good news is that in addition to the discounted kits, you can also get additional pieces of equipment for up to 50-percent off of their original prices.

Frontpoint

Where to look for deals: Frontpoint’s website

Frontpoint is hands-down one of the best home security systems. You can read all about our experience living with a Frontpoint system in our in-depth Frontpoint review.

Frontpoint systems are already affordable. A starter kit costs as low as $129. However, around Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Frontpoint usually offers additional discounts.

Currently, you can buy a basic Frontpoint system for $69 – $60 off the regular price. The 11-pierce Total Home Security package, on the other hand, costs only $329.

The biggest savings come from add-on components though. Everything is currently 50-percent off, better than the 45-percent discount last year. That means that the floodlight camera and doorbell camera (both retail for $300) now cost only $150.

Cove

Where to look for deals: Cove’s website

If you thought ADT and SimpliSafe’s 60-percent discount were impressive, brace yourself for Cove’s early Black Friday offer – 70-percent off security system packages plus a free security camera. It tops even Cove’s record-breaking 65-percent off from last year.

To give you just one example, all shoppers must start off with a starter package with one hub and one touchscreen panel. Together, those two pieces of equipment cost $300, but with the pre-Black Friday discount, they are now only $90.00. You’ll save $210, which you can use to buy sensors and cameras. And yes, those are 70-percent off as well. You can get a door sensor for a little under $5 and a pan-and-tilt indoor camera for only $60. Read all about how much Cove’s systems cost on our Cove pricing page.

Ring Alarm

Ring System

Where to look for deals: Ring’s website and Amazon

Ring is easily one of the best DIY security systems. It’s also an affordable one. But thanks to Amazon, Ring’s parent company, last year’s Black Friday sales let you buy a Ring Alarm or Ring Alarm Pro system for a lot less, especially if you bundle the security system with Ring security cameras and video doorbells.

For example: The Whole Home Deluxe Kit that includes a 14-piece Ring Alarm system, a Video Doorbell Pro 2, and a Floodlight Cam Wired Pro came with a $129 markdown. Those are all top-notch products from Ring for only $699.

This year, we are yet to find out Ring’s Black Friday and Cyber Monday offers, but that example above shows that it’s safe to expect big savings from one of Amazon’s top brands.

Lorex

Lorex Home Center

Where to look for deals: Lorex’s website, Amazon, and other online retailers

Lorex is one of the best security camera brands, and its Black Friday sale is much-awaited year after year simply because of how big they get. Lorex is yet to announce its 2024 Black Friday sale, but here’s what we saw last year:

Lorex offered tons of discounts last year. There was a site-wide sale of up to 50-percent off, plus additional savings from Site Crasher deals. Site Crashers are limited-quantity deals; they run out fast, so shoppers are encouraged to buy as soon as they see a deal they like. The deals also change pretty often, keep monitoring Lorex’s website to catch wind of the best offers.

Link Interactive

Link Interactive Security System
Link Interactive Security System

Where to look for deals: Link Interactive’s website

It isn’t exactly a Black Friday sale, but right now, Link Interactive is offering up to $350 off with the checkout code Holidays23. It’s similar to the ones they offered in the past couple of years during Black Friday, so we believe this is their Black Friday promo this year.

Scout

Where to look for deals: Scout’s website and social media pages

Scout, another strong DIY home security brand, was offering free security systems for last Black Friday and the holidays. The security system costs $240 (including shipping), but it’s free if you sign up for professional monitoring for a year. So upfront, all you’ll pay is the monitoring fee, which is $240. They’re offering that same deal right now as a limited time offer, so we might see even better come this year’s Black Friday.

Summary
