Surfshark Black Friday and Cyber Monday Deals
- No-logs VPN company based in the Virgin Islands
- Allows unlimited connections, double VPN, and split tunneling
- Choice of OpenVPN, WireGuard, and IKEv2
We love Surfshark, and we’re not keeping that a secret. In our latest review, we gave the VPN an outstanding 9.5 out of 10 score, a testament to its versatility, impressive privacy and security, and innovation when it comes to VPN features. But one of Surfshark’s strongest selling points is its affordable prices despite being a top-notch VPN.
On any normal day, Surfshark’s pricing goes as low as $2.49 per month. That’s one of the best prices in the industry. But did you know you can save even more? We’re talking about Surfshark’s Black Friday sale, which is now live and is bringing the monthly rate down to as low as $1.99. Curious? Let’s take a closer look.
FYI: The VPN Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals we’ve been seeing this year offer jaw-dropping markdowns, even for VPNs that are typically on the expensive end. ExpressVPN’s Black Friday sale, for example, offers the $12.95-per-month VPN for as low as $4.99. Compare Surfshark and ExpressVPN, and pick out the best VPN deal for you.
SurfShark Black Friday 2024: Get Four or Six Months Free!
Typically with VPNs, Black Friday deals include free months. That means you pay the same price as a regular subscription, but you get longer access to the service. In Surfshark’s case, you can get four or six months for free depending on the subscription tier and length of the plan.
Here’s how it works: Surfshark offers three subscription tiers. There’s the VPN-only Surfshark plan, the VPN with antivirus Surfshark One, and the all-in-one VPN, antivirus, and identity protection plan under Surfshark One+.
You get four months free if you buy a one-year subscription to any of those plans. The same goes for the two-year Surfshark and Surfshark One subscriptions. However, if you go all-in on the two-year Surfshark One+ plan, you get six months free.
Here’s how that translates in terms of dollars:
Surfshark Black Friday pricing | Free months | Total price you’ll pay | Average monthly cost (including the free months) |
---|---|---|---|
Surfshark (1-year) | 4 | $47.84 | $2.99 |
Surfshark One (1-year) | 4 | $54.24 | $3.39 |
Surfshark One+ (1-year) | 4 | $95.84 | $5.99 |
Surfshark (2-year) | 4 | $55.72 | $1.99 |
Surfshark One (2-year) | 4 | $69.72 | $2.49 |
Surfshark One+ (2-year) | 6 | $119.70 | $3.99 |
You can learn more about whether Surfshark is right for you in our Surfshark review, and if it’s not, don’t worry. There are tons of other VPN offers available. One you should definitely check out is NordVPN’s Black Friday sale. It’s the only VPN that outranked Surfshark in our 2024 list of the best VPNs, and right now, NordVPN subscriptions are up to 74-percent off.

What’s Included?
Of course, we recommend picking a VPN based on your needs, not just based on who offers the best deals. These are the features expect from your Surfshark VPN subscription, if you decide to get one:
- Choose from over 3,200 servers: We connected to a server in New York, but Surfshark also has options in 100 different locations around the world. Basically, if you’re a frequent flier with a passion for wanderlust, then Surfshark is a decent option.
- Kill switch: Maybe our Wi-Fi went down unexpectedly, or maybe our new puppy accidentally turned Surfshark off (and yes, our dog is well-versed in using our Macbook). Whatever the reason, we knew that if Surfshark failed, they’d do us the favor of also shutting down any web browsers or apps so that we don’t expose any information to our Internet Service Provider (ISP). We like a company with a Plan B!
- Netflix: Whether you’re new to the game or have watched everything interesting on Netflix U.S, you can Netflix and chill with Surfshark connected. And aside from general privacy (maybe you don’t want your ISP to know how many times you watched that new season of Queer Eye), using Surfshark with Netflix has one distinct advantage: being able to access Netflix in other countries, all from the comfort of your own home. You may not know that Netflix doesn’t look the same everywhere; on the contrary, different countries have completely different catalogues. And after the eighth rewatch of the Queer Eye season in Aliza’s hometown, Philadelphia, this feature was much appreciated.
- Split tunneling: Many people working from home, us included, will need to access public and private networks at the same time, which Surfshark allowed.
FYI: Split tunneling means that you can route some of your traffic to the VPN and some directly to the public Wi-Fi network. This will lower your bandwidth and increase browsing speeds.
- Torrenting: Even with the ability to watch Netflix internationally, you still may run out of content that interests you, so it’s time to torrent, all non-copyrighted material, anyway. Fortunately, Surfshark allows for torrenting so you can download that old, black and white movie without anyone knowing.
- Multi-hop: We already mentioned that Surfshark encrypted our IP addresses and browsing data with AES-256, but what we didn’t mention is that they performed this encryption multiple times. Think of it as shuffling a card deck multiple times. With each shuffle, it makes it that much harder to find one out of 52 cards, or, in the case of Surfshark, one out of literally trillions of IP addresses and search queries.
- Fast speeds on Mac: While we saw a troubling amount of latency on our Acer Aspire 5 with Surfshark on, it performed very nicely on our Macbook Pro, with only a 2 percent increase in latency, a 31 percent decrease in download speed and a nine percent decrease in upload speed.
Device and Web Browser Compatibility
Wondering if Surfshark will work on your device? It’s compatible with:
- iOS
- Android
- macOS (and due to its fast speeds, Surfshark is actually one of the top VPNs for Mac)
- Windows
- Linux
- Fire TV Stick.
But if you don’t feel like downloading an app for whatever reason, you can also use their browser extensions for Chrome and Firefox.
Note: If you go with one of Surfshark’s browser extensions, keep in mind that it will only encrypt the traffic from your web browser and not from any other web-based apps on your device.
Recap
If you’re planning on buying Surfshark this year, the current Black Friday deals are the perfect opportunity, as historically, Surfshark offers their biggest discounts during their Black Friday sales. But, if you’re not quite ready to sign up for Surfshark, they’re almost always running some kind of deal. In that case, keep an eye on our Surfshark deals page which tracks their sales throughout the year.
Either way, we’re confident that Surfshark is a good buy. It’s one of the best VPNs, especially if you’re looking for a robust, innovative, and fast privacy tool that you can bundle with antivirus software and even identity protection.
